Research activities

Stem cell therapies are promising for several unmet medical needs. However, to reach the goal of widespread clinical application, scale up of manufacturing at reasonable costs is required along with a good pricing and reimbursement strategy compatible with the requests from payers. The aim of my doctoral research is to develop a computational decision support tool for a fully integrated manufacturing process of MSCs and iPSCs with assessment of the cost of goods. This tool will be combined with a cost effectiveness analysis to determine the possible reimbursement price. The developed methodology will allow to evaluate the profitability of stem cell based therapies for particular clinical applications.
