Research activities

My work at SCERG is focused on determining Ribonucleoprotein (RNP) transfection efficiency of Cas9 endonuclease from Streptococcus pyogenes in human Mesenchymal Stem/Stromal Cells (MSCs) from different donors and tissue sources (mainly bone marrow, adipose tissue and umbilical cord matrix). This work is being developed within the frame of the PhD thesis in Bioengineering – Cell Therapies and Regenerative Medicine of Marília Silva entitled "Development of a cell-based therapy with genetically-modified mesenchymal stem/stromal cells for aggressive triple-negative breast cancers" developed at SCERG & BSRG, iBB.
