The Bioengineering lab is prepared for the design of scaffolds and development of biodevices as well as for the analysis and characterization of cell products, cell metabolism and cell expression. The lab is equipped with two hottes for the production and handling of biomaterials, an electrospinning system for the production of nanofibers and three 3D printers for the fabrication of intelligent devices to support cell culture.

Cell biomarkers and metabolites characterization are performed using a flow cytometer and a biochemistry analyser, respectively. A microplate reader is used for real time fluorescence or absorbance measurements of scaffolds or cellular products. The lab also houses a RT-PCR equipment complemented with a thermocycler and Nanodrop spectrophotometer.
