My project goal is to develop a strategy to use a human methacryloyl platelet lysate (PLMA)-based hydrogel as culture platform to support the 3D culture of cardiomyocyte derived from human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSC-CMs). PLMA hydrogels are rich in growth factors, cytokines and other proteins that are naturally present in the extracellular matrix, thus we believe that they can provide a better mimicking of the in vivo microenvironment to CMs and promote cells maturation. The hiPSC-CMs will be derived by 3D differentiation according to a novel methodology recently developed at the SCERG, these cells will then be encapsulated in PLMA hydrogels and characterized throughout time in culture.
