Research activities

My work is focused on developing region-specific brain organoids derived from patient-specific human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs), capable of better capturing molecular, cellular and structural aspects of the developing human brain. I am also interested in brain organoid assembly, by fusing organoids from different brain regions in order to create more realistic models of human brain development, that can be used to capture the initial establishment of functional circuits and how these are disrupted in neurodevelopment disorders, namely Rett Syndrome.
